What is Sulfur used for?

Topical sulfur is a drug with a function to treat acne. Topical sulfur causes dry and flaking skin, making it easy to clean excess oil and dirt a common cause of acne. Topical sulfur can also be used for purposes other than those written in the drug guidelines.

How to use Sulfur?

Here's how to use topical sulfur:

  • Wash hands before and after applying this medicine
  • Rinse the area with clean water and dry it
  • Shake lotion before use
  • Apply this medicine to the problematic part
  • Avoid the eyes, inner nose and mouth, lips, and chapped skin areas to avoid excessive irritation. Wash immediately with clean water if the area is in contact with topical sulfur
  • Do not cover the affected area after applying topical sulfur, unless recommended by your doctor. Closing wounds that have been coated with topical sulfur can absorb a lot of your body and can be dangerous

Topical sulfur is usually applied one to three times a day.

It will take several weeks or more to see the results of this drug. Don't stop using topical sulfur if you don't see results immediately.

Reduce the use of topical sulfur if you experience excessive burning, dryness or irritation.

How to store Sulfur?

This drug is best stored at room temperature, away from direct light and damp places. Do not store in the bathroom. Don't freeze it. Other brands of this drug may have different storage rules. Observe the storage instructions on the product packaging or ask your pharmacist. Keep all medicines out of the reach of children and pets.

Do not flush medicine in the toilet or in the sewer unless instructed. Discard this product when it has expired or if it is no longer needed. Consult your pharmacist or local waste disposal company about how to safely dispose of your product.

Side effects

What side effects can be experienced due to Sulfur?

The possibility of serious side effects is very small. Stop using topical sulfur and seek immediate medical attention if you experience an allergic reaction (shortness of breath; throat suffocation; swelling on lips, face, or tongue; itching).

You may experience burning, stinging, itching, redness, dryness, peeling, or irritation on your skin while using topical sulfur. If these side effects are felt to be excessive, reduce the use of topical sulfur.

Not everyone experiences the following side effects. There may be some side effects not mentioned above. If you have concerns about certain side effects, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

If you forget one dose of this medicine, take it as soon as possible. However, when it is nearing the next dose, skip the missed dose and return to the usual dosage schedule. Do not double the dose.
